Known limitations
- Satellite AIS passes leave multi-hour gaps in open water; coastal reception is far denser than offshore reception.
- Static vessel data (tonnage, engines, capacity) comes from published sources that can be outdated after a refit.
- Market values are indicative ranges from public asking prices, not appraisals, and some vessels have no published value at all.
- Emissions are modelled from observed speed, never measured. A vessel with an unusual operating profile will be estimated poorly.
- This snapshot is fixture data: fictional vessels used to validate the interface before any real feed is connected.
